About Siska Lyssens

I’m a design journalist, creative content writer and content strategist. In the last 12 years, I’ve created content and copy, both native and branded, revolving around architecture, art, design, fashion, travel and lifestyle. My work has been published in a wide array of magazines and digital media, from Dazed & Confused and AnOther Magazine to Vogue, the now defunct but seminal Style.com, Business of Fashion, T Magazine, The Spaces, Bon, Rika Magazine and Wallpaper*. At the moment, I’m a Creative Writer at Apple (via Pro Unlimited).

In my work as a journalist, I’ve interviewed countless creatives: Dries van Noten, David Adjaye, Peter Marino, Stéphane Parmentier, Axel Vervoordt, Vincent van Duysen, Xavier Lust, Glenn Sestig, Sabine Marcelis, Étienne Russo, Jan Fabre, Stephen Jones, Angela Missoni, Paola Navone, Walter Van Beirendonck, Quentin Jones, Demna Gvasalia, Joe and Charlie Casely-Hayford, Constantin Brodzki, Luc Tuymans, and others.

I started my career in content creation in the unicorn e-commerce company farfetch in London, where I managed the English Content team for 3 years before setting out independenly as a freelance writer. In Antwerp, I defined copy and content strategy and created editorial for the luxury fashion e-commerce CarréCouture, while continuing to contribute to Wallpaper* and T Magazine.

In New York, I was freelance Content Manager at La Garçonne and held the position of Content & Marketing Editor at The Cultivist.

In my work as a freelance content editor and consultant, I’ve created press releases, website copy, printed materials, social assets and digital editorial for the following brands: J.W. Anderson, Christian Wijnants, Orior, The Skateroom, Fosbury & Sons, White Line Hotels, Barefoot Luxury, Flanders Fashion Institute, Komono, Bernadette, Mandarina Duck, Eurostar Magazine (INK Global), Kipling, La Garçonne, Suite 07, Ethnicraft / Live Light, Serax and Soho House.

I’ve contributed to three coffee-table books: an essay on Belgian fashion for ‘The Belgians: An Unexpected Fashion Story’, a foreword to the photography book ‘Athos Burez: Barok Buraz at MAS Antwerpen’, and long-read interviews with two chefs for ‘Tap to Table’, a culinary book by Grohe.
